Eyes

Deep ruby red.

Nose

Lifted floral notes with rose petal, sage and sweet raspberry

Mouth

A rich mouthful of red berry flavour complemented by forest floor notes and hints of Alpine herbs.   Medium-bodied with velvety soft tannins and great persistence of flavour. Would pair well with mushroom risotto or slow cooked lamb

Winemaking Notes
Cabernet Franc grapes are better known in the Loire Valley or the Pomerol area in the Bordeaux region of France, where they are most often blended with other red varieties. The Blue Pyrenees’ winemakers saw the beauty and elegance of this variety and decided to keep some of it separate from the regular blending program, where it is known to add a lifted floral perfume. The wine was fermented for 1 week on skins in an open fermenter and pressed before settling and racking to oak barriques for secondary fermentation and maturation.
