Eyes
Vibrant light green straw.

Nose
Fresh pear, apricot kernel exotic ginger and jasmine spice.

Mouth
Fresh apricot and nashi pear notes burst in the mouth. Crisp acidity provides great structure and length and supports a long creamy and textural palate. Subtle toasted oak
enhances the lingering sweet spice and white floral notes on the finish.

Winemaking Note
Viognier is an important white wine variety originating from the Rhone Valley in France, and has also found new homes in many of the great winemaking regions around the world. Blue Pyrenees planted small experimental plots of Viognier in the 1990’s, and buoyed by the results, increased its plantings to allow the Estate and its winemakers the ability to craft a limited release of this intriguing and exotic white wine. 
Picked in the cool of the early morning the Viognier grapes were pressed directly into stainless steel tank and also to French oak barrels for natural fermentation on partial solids. After fermentation, the wine was stirred (battonage) and matured on its yeast lees for 12 months before bottling.
